This clip explores how our memories are made and then stored.
Engrams are the physical form of memory and schemas are how these memories are stored in our long-term memory. Knowing and understanding how these work allows us to use this information to maximise children's learning. This clip will explore, in more detail, both schemas and engrams and explain why it is so important to understand children's current schematic knowledge when planning future learning.
