This session provides exploration of how diverse human stories from around the world provide a powerful and captivating way for students to experience human diversity and for educators to nurture social, cultural and intercultural capital. It will also share examples of how sharing powerful real human stories raises aspirations and gives students a sense of belonging to a wider common humanity, in turn leading to more inclusivity across a whole trust.

Faiqa has been working in education for over a decade, with much of that time spent working in Humanities classrooms in both the USA and UK. For much of her career, Faiqa worked directly with trainee teachers and NQTs as well as leading on pedagogy and classroom practices. Faiqa now works for Lyfta as their Professional Development Specialist, where she designs interactive teacher education opportunities that help educators to develop their practice.
