SEMH and Global Majority Children
...
This session will include what SEMH is, how this condition occurs in our students & how it intersects with the Global Majority experience. It will also explore the latest statistics around Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH) students & why it is vital to engage them before they enter ‘The School To Prison Pipeline.’ The session also establishes how to recognise the ‘fight-or-flight’ responses of SEMH students in the classroom & learn the brain science of why this happens. It will finish by identifying the power of the ‘Pygmalion Effect’ & how this strategy will help you motivate & engage your Special Educational Needs (SEN) & SEMH & Global Majority young people in the long-term.
